An infant was discovered abandoned in an open field in Garhwa on Sunday, making it the sixth such incident in the past 12 days across the state. The baby was discovered by locals and was admitted to Garhwa Sadr hospital. Date received from Ashrayani Foundation, a socail rgamization, that works against infanticide shows that the number of cases of abandoned infantsin the state is growing every year.
