Abandoning a baby in unsafe condition is heinous crime: PaaLoNaa

An abandoned baby boy was found in the public toilet of Ambala. The little one was wrapped in pink colored baby blanket. Ambala police started a probe in the matter. Police collected the CCTV footage. The baby is currently under medical supervision and is being treated for jaundice.

A horrific sight 

Mr. Vinit Kumar (a journalist from Rewari) informed PaaLoNaa about this incident. According to this information, we contacted ChildLine coordinator of Ambala, Mr. Amit Tiwari. He confirmed this news and shared the details about the little one. the incident took place on 18th October 2022 at Ambala Cantt Bus Stand. it happened in the late evening between 7 pm-8.30 pm. 

The bus stand in-charge, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, informed that Ms. Rekha, a resident of Bihar went to the washroom at the bus-stand at around 8 pm in the evening. To her shock, she found a baby wrapped in a pink blanket in the washroom. She quickly alerted the Roadways authorities. Ms. Rekha accompanied the staff to rescue the child.

The police is looking into the matter

The Roadways staff informed the Lal Kurti Police about the incident. The police admitted the baby to the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ambala), Mr. Ram Kumar informed that the police have been checking the footage from the CCTV cameras in the area. They have spotted a woman carrying a child with her. But as of now, the police have found no clue about the identity of the woman, who abandoned the baby.

A case has been filed under section 317 against unknown persons.

The doctor’s findings

The baby is currently under medical supervision in the neonatal care unit. The ChildLine was also informed. According to the doctor, the child is merely 4 to 5-days-old.

The child is also suffering from jaundice and is being treated for the same. Blood samples have been drawn in order to carry out further health tests.
