‘Coffee for a Cause’ & Launch of Web Portal on Infanticide at Indian Medical Association

30th July 2017 Ashrayani Foundation organised an event 'Coffee For A Cause' to elaborately explain to specific stakeholders of the society about 'infanticide' and 'abandonment & exposure'. Members from the Legislature, bureaucracy, healthcare etc. A one of a kind web portal was launched that had data of infanticide since 2015. The motive behind it was to provide a platform for research and form a pathway for communcation on infanticide and abandonment. The event was addressed by various dignitaries.

23rd January 2017 marks the 2nd anniversary of the unwanted abandonded baby girl found at Ranchi (JN) Railway Station. This very finding enforced and motivated Ashrayani Media Associates and Refined Look Magazine to intiate the #PaaLoNaa drive for abandonded newborns, a drive against infanticide. Art & Photo Exhibition for Unwanted Abandoned Newborns will be organized along with a NUKKAD NATAK under the awareness campaign of PaaLoNaa.

On 16th of December 2016, an abandoned infant was found near Konge-Jaipur village in Kanke. She was abandoned by her parents and thrown in the dustbin. When Team PaaLoNaa came to know about the incident we rushed to the site by by the time police had done the patch up work and without filing an FIR it buried the body of the abandoned infant near the dustbin. It infuriated the team and we decided to give her a proper burial and prayer for the departed soul. We vowed to create an awareness among the villages in and around the location....

Our campaign is against the discarding of 'Unwanted Newborns'. For supporting the cause against 'infanticide' we organised an exhibition of artwork and pictures of these infants (Alive or Dead). Renowned artists of Jharkhand are supporting the drive 'PAA LO NAA' by submitting their artwork in the exhibition. There was an overwhelming response by the government delegates, the media, society in general.

A strange incident happened at the historic Jagannath Fair in Ranchi. In the presence of police dead bodies of fetuses was put on display as a part of a show. The stall was only 50 meters away from the fair OP. Police officers were also present at the OP.
