In The Past 3 Years 162 Infants Found Abandonded – PaaLoNaa

Ashryanai Foundation under it's drive PaaLoNaa has collected data on infanticide and abandonment from 2015 to 2018. A total of 162 infants were found in such state. Out of 162 infants 88 were dead and 74 were alive. This data is exclusive to PaLoNaa and cn't found with the law enforcement authorities or CWC. This report and data was covered by the national daily, Dainik Jagran in it's Ranchi edition.

Police Fails To File FIR In Cases Of Infanticde & Abandonment

Ashrayani Foundation under it's dive PaaLoNaa has been fighting Infanticide since 2015. Police authorities has failed to lodge FIR in Cases of Abandonmnet and Infanticide reports Prabhat Khabar, a hindi daily. Asharayani foundation which has been running the PaaLoNaa drive does not consider Infanticide as a socil evil but a heinous crime and expect the authorities and the society at large to deal with the issue in a similar manner.

Ashryanai Foundation under it's drive PaaLoNaa has yet again taken strong stand against the recent case of infanticide in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The infant, a victim of infanticide has been taken out from the grave once it was know to the organisation that no autopsy has been carried out by the local police administration. Mrs. Monika Gunjan Arya, the Founder Trustee and Chairperson of Ashrayani Foundation worked relentlessly for the right of the dead infant.

The Founder Trustee and Chairperson of Ashrayani Foundation, Mrs. Monika Arya was awarded 'India Iconic Personality Award' in Delhi's Talkatora stadium by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, the Indian Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development, former Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mr. Vijay Goel, and Member of Parliament Mr. Sakshi Maharaj. Vishwa Shanti Sewa Charitable Trust had organised the event.

Hindi daily Dainik Jagran has elaborately covered the serious issue of infanticide and abandenment & exposure. The newspaper has also covered the recent developments. Team PaaLoNaa under Ashrayani Foundation has been raising the issue since 2015. Finally the efforts have paid back. District administration of Ranchi has agreed to install 4 cradles in Ranchi District. Founder Trustee and Chairperson of Ashrayani Foundation, Mrs. Monika Arya has appriciated the district administration for their efforts. The number of cradles shall be incresed to 20 soon. Body Of Infant Baby Girl Found From Swarnarekha River In Ranchi

 Ranchi, Jharkhand
Body of a two-month old baby girl was today found from the Swarnarekha river under Namkum Police Station area of the state capital. The body of the child was spotted by a person, who had gone to the river bank early in the morning, after which he informed the police. Later a police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to RIMS.

Several revelations in Missionaries of Charity Run Child Care in Ranchi

The Missionaries of Charity, which is facing charges of selling newborns to childless couples, has not been able to provide records of births by women. The scam came to light when the couple, who had taken a newborn from the charity home in May, complained that they had paid Rs 1.20 lakh for medical care and delivery of the child, but the baby was taken back by the charity home with assurances of returning it back after court procedures. The couple complained to the Child Welfare Society after they failed to get the child.

Missionaries of Charity Nun Arrested for Selling Babies in Ranchi

Sister Koncilia, a nun at Missionaries of Charity’s Nirmal Hriday home, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly selling a child of an unwed mother. The home in eastern India's Jharkhand state is run by Missionaries of Charity, the order set up by Mother Teresa in India, and provides shelter for pregnant unmarried women. Monika Arya, Founder of Ashrayani Foundations links this incident to Abandonmnet and infanticide.

CWC Ignores Cases Of Abandonmnet And Infanticide, Reports A Popular Daily

 Ranchi, Jharkhand
Data collected by the Ashrayani Foundation, an NGO, under its Paa Lo Naa initiative, a drive against infanticide and abandonment of children, states that 121 children were found abandoned in Jharkhand since 2016 till May this year. Of them, 63 were dead. While in 2016, 29 children were found abandoned, in 2017, the number went up to 65. This year, till May, 27 abandoned children were found. While this data shows the number of cases where children were abandoned on roadsides or other places, instances of mothers surrendering their children for adoption, also remains high across the state.
