Central Adoption Resource Authority is a statutory body of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. It functions as the nodal body for adoption of Indian children and is mandated to monitor and regulate in-country and inter-country adoptions. But even till date it is the most misunderstood process in India. Although adoption connects prospective parents with children in need of good homes, and is thus a worthy and vital service, there are often many legal hurdles to overcome before an adoption can take place. Additionally, adoption requires certain legal filings and procedures. Some, but not all, of these steps in the adoption process may require the help of an attorney or other legal professional.
