Paa Lo Naa's Appeal

Infanticide is the intentional killing of infants. Parental infanticide researchers have found that mothers are far more likely than fathers to be the perpetrator for neonaticide and slightly more likely to commit infanticide in general. But that alone does not contribute to rising cases of infanticide in India. Since infanticide, especially neonaticide, is often a response to an unwanted birth, PaaLONaa apeals to parents, police & judiciary, medical practitioners, media, government and to the society to help create awareness. We, as humans have a specific role to play if we desire to curb infanticide in near future. To learn more about PaaLoNaa's appeal click the link below.

Adoption Process

Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) is a statutory body of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. It functions as the nodal body for adoption of Indian children and is mandated to monitor and regulate in-country and inter-country adoptions. CARA is designated as the Central Authority to deal with inter-country adoptions in accordance with the provisions of the Hague Convention on Inter-country Adoption, 1993, ratified by Government of India in 2003. CARA primarily deals with adoption of orphan, abandoned and surrendered children through its associated or recognised adoption agencies.

Legal Panel

Adoption as defined under the law is creation of a parent-child relationship by judicial order between two parties who usually are unrelated. This relationship is brought about only after a determination that the child is an orphan or has been abandoned or that the parental rights have been terminated by the court’s order. Adoption process can be tiresome & includes a lot of legal hurdles and proceedings. “Private adoption” is also deemed illegal in the country. Violation of the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) guidelines can lead to legal proceedings against the parties involved. So Team PaaLoNaa offers a legal panel to help assist the willing parents for adoption.
